What is MBSA?
The Muncie Baseball and Softball Association provides the opportunity to play baseball or softball to the children of Muncie, Indiana. Boys ages 4-12 and Girls 4 - 18 can participate in our Baseball & Softball programs.  MBSA encourages teaching the game, teamwork, sportsmanship and just plain fun.
Are there age limits for players?
The cutoff date for baseball is “before May 1st  “ Girls leagues age cutoff date of January 1st is used. Are there concessions available at the diamond complex?

Drinks and snacks, at nominal prices, are available at a small concession stand on site.  Funds raised through these sales are reinvested in the league.
What equipment does MBSA provide?

MBSA furnishes limited equipment, including batting helmets, catcher’s gear, bats and practice balls.  Each player is responsible for their own mitt, batting gloves and other personal items.
When is game time?

Games begin at 5:30pm during the week and at various times on Saturdays.
What league will my child play in?

Leagues are structured by the age and gender of the players.
Coaches Pitch/T-Ball: coed, for kids 4 – 6 years old and beginning 7 year olds

Rookie League:coed, machine pitch, for kids 7 – 8 years old and 6 Year Olds who have played 2 years of T-Ball

Cadet League:boys, live pitch, for kids 9 – 10 years old

Minor League:boys, live pitch, for kids 11 – 12 years old

Softball:  currently we sponsor 10&under, 12 & Under and 14&under travel teams.  We are investigating an inter-league agreement with other area organizations to provide league opportunities (if we have enough girls wanting to play softball).
Where are the MBSA diamonds located?

MBSA plays its games on the diamonds located at the corner of Oakwood and Bethel Avenues.
Is parking available?

The Muncie Community Schools Corporation permits parking ON PAVED AREAS ONLY.  MCS has requested that league representatives enforce this restriction.
What is the policy for games postponed by rain?

MBSA will make every effort to reschedule all games that have been rained out.  Most makeup games will be made up on Saturdays, beginning at 9:00am.  Rainout information will be broadcast by WLBC between 4:00pm and 5:00pm.
Are there registration fees?

A $45.00 registration fee is charged for all leagues except Coaches Pitch/T-Ball.  That league has $40.00 registration fee because no umpires are used. Discounts are avaiable for families with more than on child playing
When are games scheduled?

Regular season games are scheduled Monday through Friday for all leagues.  The only scheduled Saturday games are opening day, the day of the tournament finals, and our fund-raiser day.
How long does the season last?

The MBSA season occurs between the end of April and the end of June.  Practices begin in early April.
Does MBSA have a season ending league tournament?

Season ending tournaments for each league are played during the last week of June.  These tournaments are blind-draw, single-elimination tournaments.
Does MBSA provide uniforms for its players?

MBSA provides each child with a uniform shirt and cap.  Uniform pants are the responsibility of the player.
